Douglas spent $40 on a pair of jeans and had some money left.

He spent `2/5` of his remaining money on a sweater and a pair of sandals.

After that, he had half of his original sum of money left.

(a) Find the fraction of money which Douglas spent on the pair of jeans.

(b) The cost of the sweater is `2/3` of the cost of the pair of sandals. How much did he pay for the pair of sandals?
